It does. I am using vbSEO rewrites on my forum and it works fine.

For those who have dedicated server, or at least VPS, you can use Mod Rewrite to do the same.

But you cannot rewrite your board urls just with a .htaccess
Rewriting the forum url's is the subject here.

That is why you have to be on a dedicated server or VPS so you have root access to your server to do custom Apache module (Mod Rewrite in this case).

My brother was able to do it for my on my site: www.vietnhim.com

The homepage's also the lyrics section on my site. That lyrics script is a free php + mySQL script. We developed it further and use Mod Rewrite on it to make all the links static instead of dynamics. We did the same on our forum: vietnhim.com/dongnhim/

The only modification that's installed on my forum is User Legend (from vbulletin.org). I don't use any SEO Mod for it. SEO Mod's the only way to have your urls static if you don't have access to root, such the case when you're on shared and reseller hosting accounts.
