Default Change out of thumbnail

What file do I need to change to change the output of the thumbnail.

I want replace the head image with the thumbnail but I need to change the thumbnail output code.

It output's:
HTML Code:
And so I think php uses this output to create:

HTML Code:
<td align="center"><a href="" target="_blank"><img src="" class="inlineimg" border="0" /></a></td>
Or.. how can I get the module to show up on the template.

What I know:
I know I can edit the module but I don't want the default GARS template and I want to use MySql to query it.

Uses explode function in mods/display/custom_fields.php:
PHP Code:
 $value explode(","$value);
$deftemplate "GARS_custom_thumb_row"
