Default Ratings Module Width problem

In Internet Explorer, when an entry has ratings applied, the box breaks out of my fixed width. It is fine in FF but not in IE. I poked around the ratings templates but couldn't figure out what to fix to make it stay inside the table. All my GARS templates are default except the postbit and newthread.

Here is the problem page:

IF you collapse the ratings module, that fixes the problem.

If you edit the type, change the showthread's width for modules setting... does that help at all?

No that doesn't help. All that does it make the module break out in different ways. I need to get some space back from my field set or something. I'm just not sure where to find it in the templates.

You could try manually editing the GARS_pb template. What you are looking for is this bit:

HTML Code:
    <if condition="$post['GARS_modposition2']">
                <td width="$stylevar[gars_mod_width]" class="alt2" align="center" style="padding:10px;" valign="top">
                <div style="float: $stylevar[right];padding-$stylevar[right]: 15px;">
                        $post[GARS_modposition2]
                <img src="clear.gif" width="$stylevar[gars_mod_width]" height="1px" border="0" />
            </div>
        </td>
    </if>
you could try changing this bit:

HTML Code:
<td width="$stylevar[gars_mod_width]" class="alt2" align="center" style="padding:10px;" valign="top">
to something like:

HTML Code:
<td width="300px" class="alt2" align="center" style="padding:10px;" valign="top">

That helps a bit. I need to change the padding. I did in the area you mentioned but I need to change this padding (or margin) area as well (see attached).

The code you posted changed the part in the red. I want to change the part in the green. (see attached)

The problem with changing that is that it is your $stylevars[cellpadding] property in the GARS_mod_container template. I suppose you could create a new template based on that one, then edit line 1070 of your geek/gars/includes/gars_class_core.php to point to the new one.

I figured out what is causing the problem. I happens when I have modules in both the left and right side of the content. If I take out the left side modules the table aligns properly as in here:

http://onereef.com/forums/showthread.php?t=265

If I add a left hand column the ratings table breaks out like this:
