Talking Editing- Not so much a bug as 'finger trouble'

Hey Geek, me old mate

As discussed, getting GARS 2 up and running sorted that lost thread problem for me. But I got another that's got me scratching me bonce.

For some weird reason, I can't edit the thread. If I click on the usual edit button at the foot of the post, I get a white page. If I go to 'article tools' and choose edit, I get an edit page but none of the thread content to edit (it only gives me the option to alter a few settings).

If you want to see this snag, please let me know so that I can set you up with admin access on my site (delighted to do that if you need it). You could STAY an Admin if you want!!!

Like I said in the title, this is no doubt my own finger trouble and not a snag with GARS2, which I have no doubt has all the wrinkles ironed out already.

Cheers

Mike

Can you check your logs? Sounds like a PHP compile error. I assume its only on a GARS thread?

Wink

It is only on a GARS thread, yes. But I am upgrading to vB3.6.2 at the minute, so I'll check logs later and get back to you, my friend. Thanks for the reply.

Who knows, maybe the wrinkle will sort itself out during the vB upgrade - and fairies live at the bottom of my garden, too!

Regards

Mike

Red face Phew!

Errr ... OK, they said they're on their way, but asked for the great circle route to where you're working, Geek. It's a nav issue!

As for the problem I have, it looks like it may have disappeared with the vB3.6.2 upgrade. Sorry to have troubled you with it but, as usual, it looks like you were right. Maybe the new php files did the trick ... but I really don't know. I am not a coder's bootlace.

Just curious, but which is 'your kind'? Is it article, review, or tute? I'm leaning towards tute at the moment. Like the way it presents on the page.

And shouldn't I have a nice little line of preview images on my forums homepage - or was that ... err ... some other hack I've forgotten about at this late hour?

Looking forward to the new GAL . Hope the fairies do a good job!

Regards

Mike
