Default A few presentation things

I'm about to start constructing a rather complex cms to be built upon a large vb forum; I'm planning to use GARS and vbCMPS to get it how I want.

Anyway, I'm wondering if a few things could be added to GARS from a pure presentation/user experience stand point (forgive me if they already exist, I haven't been able to find them).
  • A way to order threads in the forumdisplay by their rating or another numerical custom field such as price in addition to the already existing ways to order the threads.
  • A way to display custom fields on the forumdisplay template.
  • A way to display the latest articles/review from other forums on the article/forumdisplay pages (via modules possibly?).
  • An example or way to get GARS data such as custom fields on to a vbCMPS page (module? Example PHP?).

Some of these may seem simple but due to my basic (that's a compliment) PHP it would be a bit messy for me to do them without a bit of guidence.

thanks for the suggestions.

1- I am working on this one... Its a good idea
2- Im not sure how I could do this as a module, however the fields are availible in the GARS_threadbit template much in the same way user profile fields are availible in postbits.
3- This is dooable. Just add the TOP module and configure it to latest and seelct the forums you want to display
4- Not sure what you mean by the last one. COuld you give an example?

Thanks!

1- Cool. Looking forward to it.
2- I Didn't know that was already possible (I haven't purchased a license yet).
3-Good .
4- Don't worry about that; didn't see your GARS block.

Additionally, I just had another thought. Would it be possible to have a feature which hides GARS forums on the forum home page, thus furthering the illusion that the article system is separate from vb.

Sorry for the double post but I felt it was appropraite. Is there a way to order the threads by the date of the first post (the article/review)?

Sorry to be a bother again. I'm just about to purchase gars and this is the last query I have.

Is it possible to substitute the navbar as to not have a link to the forum home? If not could you possibly point me in the right direction of how to do this?

By default or is some hacking needed? It would be an <if> statement thing right?
