Default Quick question re: words within URL's

I'm trying to figure out whether GAL will work for what I want to do, and my question is: What happens when a linked word is within a URL?

For example, if Amazon is a normally autolinked word, what happens when someone posts a link to a product, like www.amazon.com/itemnumber

Will it mess up the link?

It can do IF its a multi word url. Take the example above.

If amazon is a keyword and there is a link like: This links to amazon page then it will find it, match it and possibly mess it up.

There are some other rare exceptions however your example above wouldnt link.
In 5.0, you will have finer control over the regexp patterns so you could fine tune it more if need be.

Ahh, so if someone uses text to substitute for the link itself, it might mess it up. Hmm, I hadn't thought about that possibility. What would GAL change that to?

It would break it. GAL primarily uses a regexp that looks for a space in front of the text. Chances of a false positive are low, but always possible. You would end up with a bunch of broken HTML if it did happen.
