Default Two quick questions

I've needed something like this forever because I plan on having basic & premium memberships. Getting a non-related article system would be too much of a hassle.

1. Is it easy to configure? I have no problem tweaking, but I can't really spend too much time in that area.

2. Are there any major differences between the two versions other than the fact that you apparently need ioncube for 2.0? [I'm not sure if I hav that yet.]

1- IMO very much so. Its about as 'out of the box' as you want it or as customizable as you need it. Its really about how far you want to take it. However it takes hardly any time to install and have the vanilla system running.

2- There are several - the key one being custom thread fields and some other fixes - however its still a beta so while there have been some bug fixes, there have been some bug creations

That sounds great! So it's possible to make it look like it's not connected to vB?

The new version sounds like the one. Are there going to be any updates before the 30th?

Depends on your interprutation of 'being connected to vb'. SOme dont like the look because its somewhat similar to the forums - some LOVE it for that fact (brings a lot of consistancy and predictability for users). Saying that - GARS is designed to be VERY felxible in its implimentation.
Check the testing forum here for an idea of how it looks 'out of the box'.

Not sure if there will be any updates before then, however there is a VERY good chance there will be one very soon. Ive got a few bugs fixed that I want to upload. Only problem is Im away on business now so its touch and go with the time I have availible.

Okay, because I want to get it before the price goes up, but at the same time, I want the update you're going to put up.

I guess the last question is: are the updates free or do you have to pay?

When you buy a license,l you get 1 year of updates FOC. If you want updates after that you have to renew your access at a reduced rate - so yes
