Ads or script causing site jitters
For some reason, some of the visitors to my site are complaining that the ad module that I have setup is causing the left vBAdvanced column to "jitter" or bounce up and down. I have seen the issue and have no idea why it would happen. I would be perfectly willing to make a monetary donation if you could help me figure this out.
Thanks, Jeremy CycloneFanatic.com |

Please note that I am not online 24/7, some days I am online more than others, and occasionally I take a day off. The last post I made on this site before today was on 08-06-2008 04:09 PM GMT so really not all that long ago. As to your question, I viewed your site with both IE and FF and did not see a bounce. Perhaps some of your users are on a slow connection, using a particular browser, and see the page bounce do to the way the browser renders the page. More on this can be found here.

Sorry for that response.
I think I discovered the problem. It appears that when you refresh the page, the prior ad shows up for a split second before the newly rotated ad appears - if they aren't the same exact size, it appears as though the column below it is bouncing. So my question now is this - do you know why the prior ad is shown for a split second before the new one appears? Is there a way to remove whatever is caching the old version? Thanks! |

Sounds like browser cache. vB has a Add No-Cache HTTP Headers option in the vB Options -> Cookies and HTTP Header Options, but if I were you, I would not set it, as your page requests, bandwidth usage, and page load times will likely increase, perhaps dramatically. Depending on the browser, it should have a don't cache option as well.
