Default GARS 1.0 compatible with vB 3.6.8

Hi,

I'm just going to update my vB from 3.5.4 to 3.6.8.
I have GARS 1.0 which works fine an 3.5.4
I'd like to upgrade GARS too, but - as everybody knows - it's not possible at the moment.

Is GARS 1.0 working with vB 3.6.8?

Andreas

Not sure. There are some code changes from 3.5.4 to 3.6.8 that are not backwards compatible. To be safe, try running a 3.6.8 test board with GARS 1.0 on it and test it out.

Come to think of it, maybe I should do the same since I have GARS 1.0.2.

I've just started fiddling around with GARS version 1.0.2 and vB 3.6.8 and so far it seems to be working. I'm using the Review default template. I'll continue to run tests with custom fields, entries and templates.

Custom fields do not work for me in 3.6.8, while I am using GARS 2.1.8c, so I suspect that function will be out for GARS 1.0 as well. But you never know.

Thanks Alfa1. I'll run tests on older versions and 2.1.8c.

For the custom fields to work I assume that the "$post[garsx]" needs to be added into the postbit template. Where x is change the number of the Custom Field that is used. Example:

I created 2 custom fields (text and checkbox). They are represented as field IDs "1" and "2" respectively. I added in the templates $post[gars1] and $post[gars2].

You write 'templates', which is plural. Is this a spelling error or is there another template to edit besides POSTBIT?
