Question Header / Footer Banners

I have my header template set to $GAB_ads[0] and footer $GAB_ads[1] I was assuming that by setting a banner to footer that is where it would show up. Do we have a way of actually setting the banners actual location?

Those are just rough categories and do not dictate placement on their own.
Edit your Master script and set whatever blocks you want to appear in whatever $GAB_ads[x] box. Then put the corresponding $GAB_ads[x] where you want them to appear on a page (i.e. $GAB_ads[0] in your header and $GAB_ads[5] or whatever in your footer). TO make them pull from a specific category, edit the blocks and tell it to choose from specific categories.

Did that and set $GAB_ads[0] to default and $GAB_ads[1] to the Footer block I created.

Now this I can't figure.

I click the ad blocks and see links for Default and Footer click footer but there is now where to select a category.

I also found another small bug. On the "Categories" page selecting edit takes you to a page to create a new category not the edit.

You have to set your categories for each add in the Banners section of the GAB Manager. It is not working correctly right now though and The Geek posted yesterday saying it is not working. He said he would be putting the updated version online today for downloading.

The edit Categories in the GAB Manager was also a known problem and he said that would be in the fix today that he releases. If yoiu want to read more about the fixes he is working on here is the link:

The default is the name of the default billboard. THe more billboards you add, the more options besides default you will have.

Ok I think I understand how this works. I have to manually insert $GAB_ads[0],$GAB_ads[1], etc... into the templates of my forum based on where I want them to display.

Since Im not totally familiar with all the templates/locations, do you have a list of where the most common ad insert points are and where the $GAB_ads tags go?

Thanks.

Nick

The most common place for a header banner is the last line in your navbar template. The rest just kind of depends on where you are wanting it
