Whats in a name?
Whats in a name?

So, you dig GeekMart but you think your users will think you're a nerd by them shopping at a ' GeekMart '?

Though the term GeekMart and GeekCart can easily be changed throughout your phrases to whatever you feel like calling it... there is a special phrase that can be changed to allow you to rename the file itself.

Lets say we felt like changing the file from geekmart .php to marketplace.php

All you have to do is physically rename the file from geekmart .php to marketplace.php and then edit the phrase 'gmart_script' from geekmart to marketplace.

Cool huh?

This tutorial was brought to you by the letters O and Yea.

This is a vBulletin thing I'm sure, but I've ran into this problem before:

How do you edit a phrase like this? I honestly can't see anywhere to edit this. (without phpmyadmin)

Think you add it to the English translation which will override it.

very helpful tutorial. It would be nice to have a setting in the geekmart settings in the ACP where you can choose the name of your store, and define the name of the .php file you want to use. I know it can be done using th method you described, but it may be more user-friendly to have it as a setting in the GeekMart , especially since it will be a commercial product.

I cant recall off hand why I had to make it a phrase instead of a setting. If I can make it a setting - I will in a heartbeat.... I just cant remember why I did it as a phrase.

i just realized my last post isnt so simple to do.. you need to search through all the geekmart phrases in the text area for both geekcart and geekmark to change the links and error messages properly..

GEEK if in the next vers you can make the wherever it uses thse terms refer to the phrases instead like

Quote:
gmart_cart_empty
Your GeekCart from GeekMart is looking pretty bare (its empty!)
let it be this instead

Quote:
gmart_cart_empty
Your $vbphrase[gmart_geekcart] from $vbphrase[gmart_geekmart] is looking pretty bare (its empty!)
along with anything else that uses those terms
