GAL 5.0 Alpha Preview

Well, here he is. An early alpha preview of GAL . I'm only testing out a handful of the features. I need to keep an eye on stats and configurability so I thought it would be best to unveil it here to watch its performance.

Currently, I'm using the same template for all the GALs (thats right, they are now controlled by templates YAY!!). I am also only using the default pop up type for GARS, GAB , GeekMart and GAL (which is an anchor bottom right). I made 2 tests to show you the other types - follow (which seems slightly buggy) and stay open . Both are identical to the standard ones, but have different category settings to stay open or follow (simple enough!).

There are also now 4 anchor points which I haven't bothered to create tests for: Bottom left, Bottom right, Top left and Top right.

I am testing the new caching system mentioned in the preview thread.

BTW: PLEASE DON'T ASK FOR AN ETA. My priority is GARS to gold then this. It just so happened I got 5.0 to this stage while waiting on GARS RC2 bug notifications.

	Stay Open This box's category has its Style option set to Stay Open. This keeps it open until closed. (Duh!)

	Follow This box's category is set to the follow option, which means it will follow your stupid mouse around.

	GAL The Geek Auto-linker is the famous vBulletin system for auto highlighting key words is posts with links and/or popups. A wonder for glossaries and sponsors!

I did experiment along the same lines (with the ' follow ' and 'stay-open' ), also found the follow annoyingly tempremental. I really do like the styled boxes though, took a screeny and showed the lads, they fell in love with them immediately.
