hardcoded terms?
I noticed that some terms in GARS might be hardcoded - f.e. latest 5 articles/reviews, 5 most active articles/revieiws etc..

Set up a new term set via the ACP -> GARS -> Term Sets and then go to the ACP -> GARS -> Types -> click the type you want to edit -> select the term set you want to use for the 'Term Sets' option.
