I suppose I'm a bit late in testing this, but in the slight chance that I'm not, I'll post my "story" :

Up until yesterday, I've been using 3.0.7 over at my forum. After noticing performance issues, it was decided to upgrade to 3.5 RC2. The forum's speed increased 5x and things seemed well, but I lost all 3.0.x hacks! I knew that'd happen, of course, but one thing I missed were the hacks released by The Geek! GAS, GAL,... quite a bit was lost, so seeing as how I didn't need to check vb.org til recently for 3.5 stuff (my nick there is Omega Prime, btw), I noticed this site and saw that you were looking for beta testers

So once again, I'm probably too late to beta-test anything here, but if not, I'd practically be honored to test out the latest versions of the hacks you now offer. In time, I hope to save up a bit of money for them (as coders have to eat and pay bills too...hehe), but for now, testing any of your hacks would be great

You can still get them in their current betas when you buy a license though (and it is pretty cheap).

Sorry couldnt be of more assistence (I may be releasing a lite version of GAL on vb.org when the final goes gold here)

The thing is... I'm literally broke at the moment and £15 is roughly US$27.59 for me. It's not to say that I expect to get it for free, but I wouldn't have mind testing a beta product (even if it's buggy). I've got about $10 in my bank account til I start working next week, so while you probably might think I'm just trying to get it for nothing, it's just that I had hoped to get my forum using such things as GAL and GARS before this weekend (since from the looks of it now, some members are suffering from "hack withdrawl" at the moment..lol)

I think that this is unfair. Do you even have a legit copy of vbulletin? The Geek has stated that the beta testing is closed, so you should accept it and be gracious. He has also stated that he may offer a lite version of GAL on vb.org, which is very generous.

I am sure that everyone can come up with a good reason why they think they need this or that for free or at a reduced rate. Your forum has run without these hacks, and it will continue to run fine without these hacks until you can afford them- your life/livelihood does not depend on you getting these hacks right here, right now for your forum, so please stop begging.

It seems my words have been altered quite a bit. First off, I do have a valid license (I've had one since Feb. 04 and bought an owned license this year), so it's not like I'm looking for some "1337 w4reZ". The only thing preventing me from getting this at this very second is money. £15 may not seem like a lot to people living in GB, but $27+ isn't exactly pocket change to me.

Second, my forum did run the majority of Geek's hacks, so while it's not to say that my forum's gonna explode or anything without them, all I said was that I didn't mind running a beta on the site. If The Geek does decide to release lite versions of his hacks for free, then that's great. Even still, I would like to get them eventually once they become gold versions, so for the time being, I thought I'd at least see if beta testing was still occuring.

Basically, I'm just saying that in due time, I'll try and get these new vB3.5 hacks. If not, I'm not gonna kill myself over it. It would've been preferred to have one or two of Geek's hacks, but again, it's not the end of the world. Maybe I'll just convert his 3.0.x hacks to work for 3.5, but for the time being, I'm just gonna wait and see

All right... I have my hanky out dabbing my eyes.

Ill put you into the GARS testing as I just dropped 2 users for lack of participation. I cant put you in GAL though simply because it is basically a done deal (I only know of a couple minor outstanding issues). Ill also drop unlicensed beta testers from GARS when it goes RC.
