Default Custom-Link / Amazon-Affiliates

Hi everybody,
hi Geek,

gerat Program! There are some Challanges I have and I hope you can help me: I´d like to work a little bit more extendet with a custom-field. And ... you will love me for that, I bet.

I´d like to have a user just typing in an ISBN or an AISN from Amazon and then have shown the whole Amazon-Link as an order-Link in the Overview.

An Example:
User types in "123456789" as the AISN. Then in the Article/Review there should be an order-link to Amazon in this kind: www.amazon.de/id=123456789"&ref=mypersonalrefid.

Well ... sure the link should not be written out like this. My personal favorite is to have this link on three places:

- Behind the Name of the book
- Behind the picture of the book
- Behind an order-pictore under the book.

However, each good forum will love this idea I´m sure, so I hope this can come to a real quick solution. ;-)

Best wishes, Julian!

I think this would be a great module - and would pollish off GARS perfectly. Other review engines do this out of the box - so GARS should too.

I need to read more about how to make the modules...

BTW - the GARS 2.0.2 is awesome!

My suggestion for the Geeg was the following:

Another "light" program, which is nothing more than GARS with the Amazon-Templates. As long as it is the "light" version all the Amazon-Links are directed on his Amazon-Ref-ID. So he earns money, the software is free of charge and everybody has something great.

When somebody buys GARS full version, he can change the Amazon-Ref-ID. Then the Geek gets Money for the software and the User keeps the Amazon-Money for himself.

What do you think? Would this be great for GARS?

Best wishes, Julian!

Thats a good idea. But I don't think it could be enforced in the Lite version unless he dug it deep into the code where the average Joe would find it difficult to change. Either way he could set the templates to default to his Amazon referral ID and I am sure many would never get changed... some don't use Amazon affiliate program... some do...

Anyway - we need this module! Somebody?

Thanks Frank...

How did you integrate this example?

http://www.literaturforen.de/forum/showthread.php?t=29

How did you get the Amazon link box on the bottom? Is it dynamically generated?

No, I have just integrated the iframe code related to the product from Amazon. But I would like to have this box at the top of the frame and not at the bottom. Still interested in a solution.

Best,
Frank
