bring back the synopsis

Hi,
I know that its been said no one uses the synopsis but this isn't really the case.
In my site i use a custom display of the forumdisplay and encounter 2 problems when removing the synopsis :
1. i wish to use a certain amount of space for the synopsis that is shown. when i cut only X characters from the first paragraph i sometime get :
a. broken sentences and b. diffrent line numbers (enter counts only as 1 character).
The other problem is the bbcode, some users makes the sentence bold or use certain colors that do not fit my design in the first page (either because they make the text bigger than the allowed space or by using really ugly colors )

Having said that could you please bring it back ? (or at least let me know how to add it back ?).

Yea, Beta 3 has it back. I should know as it was a bugger to put back in

where is it ?
I have the latest GARS installed - "Geek Article and Review System 1.0 Beta 3 ©2005 The vB Geek" and the only thing close to the synopsis is the description field. However this field does not save into the synopsis field in the db so...

Make sure you have the 'show synopsis' set to yes in the type
