Bug with GARS_thread_title
If I am not mistaken, the GARS_thread_title term should be used in place of 'title' when adding a new gars entry?
Essentially when adding a new thread (gars thread) I need the contents of GARS_thread_title to replace 'title' - it currently is not doing that... is this a bug? Last edited by webforumz; 07-04-2008 at 04:25 PM.. |

GARS_thread_title looks to be an artifact from an old version. Both the GARS_editpost and GARS_newthread templates use $vbphrase[title] for the title box.

Ok.... I'll duplicate the templates so I can hard-code these...
Seems a little over the top given that the template once upon a time used to do this and the underlying functionality would appear to be there (ie, the phrases are stored) but no way of using them... Must I duplicate the template for each and every Gar Type I wish to use purely to change a title? This seems excessive - why was this dropped? |

Can't tell you why that was changed, before my time, but if I had to guess, I'd say it was because $vbphrase[title] is sufficient no matter the type. Haven't done it, but maybe you could change the title via a plugin, something like if forumid is X, use this title, else if forumid is Y, use this title, etcetera, or try using $vbphrase[thread_title] or just leave it as $vbphrase[title].
