Heya Geek .. still tinkering with GARS but really loving it as I understand it more. I've noticed that whenever I use something new that often when I think of a feature that a developer might have overlooked (which happens a lot when someone is immersed in code for sooo long as I'm sure you are).
Anyhow .. figure this would be rather easy to impliment yet also have a good deal of usage:
1- Have the ability to access the actual date of the article (not just the feature date). I guess it would also be important to have the actual permission to do so with "Enter Feature Dates" (or on its own).
2- This one would be a bit trickier (not sure if it would conflict with actual vB stuff), although working with that ability to set the date, you could also set it up so that if the date is in the future, it is hidden until the date/time in question. That sort of thing would be fantastic for people who write reviews/articles in batches (lets say 7 a week on their week-end) but only want them released one at a time (one per day or whatever else they might want). This sort of thing would be great for music or DVD reviews so that the review doesn't show up until the release date (or what ever other date the author chooses).
3- Add a "Start Featuring" setting .. where someone can start the "featuring" at a future date and with "Feature Until" have full control over the Featured Range!
Although #3 might seem the same as #2, it is slightly different as the author might want to keep the date when they wrote it (or whatever date they want) but only feature it at a future date/time. It would be great to have all 3, but maybe just #1 & #3 would be simpler for now.
Again .. this isn't a bug or a problem .. I was just copying some older writtings I had in a
test
GARS Article forum and would have liked to have the ability to set the date to when I originally wrote them (which would be covered by #1 above even if #2 is a little too complicated to impliment).
Also .. I'll probably have a few other small ideas/suggestions as I get to know GARS a bit more ... would you rather me put them all in a single thread? or would you prefer seperate threads (if I actually have more than one) for clarity and searchability reasons? Oh yeah .. and can I assume that this is the right forum for this sort of thing, or is it better in the add-ons forum?
Thanks again and keep up the good work!
