Question [BUG] GARS 2.1.8m and vBSEO Title problem

Hi Morgan,

it seems that GARS does not like vbSEO. I have this product installed on my board and the latest GARS Version 2.1.8m is showing a strange Title (see screenshot)

The title is for example:
Code:
<!-- google_ad_section_start -->Ulldart - Die Dunkle Zeit 5<!-- google_ad_section_end -->
but it should be
Code:
Ulldart - Die Dunkle Zeit 5
Disabling vbSEO removes the Google text but this is not an option.
Can you change the way GARS handles the titles so that vbSEO does
not wrap this text around it?

Kind regards
jluerken

Sorry, but I don't use vBSEO and am not going to buy it, and then take the time to learn it, in order to figure out where those Google tags get inserted just to remove them, especially when they come from vBSEO and not GARS. Not sure it'll work, but as you want them gone, try using the vB Replacement Variable Manager. Look at the HTML source for what to find and then replace with an empty string or the &nbsp; entity.

Hi Morgan,

I'll ask the vbSEO team what their script is doing there. Maybe we can find an easy solution together cause I think many Users are using vbSEO and have also GARS installed.

I'll keep you informed!

Ok I've tested this a little bit more and found the problem.

When this function is disabled in vBSEO
Code:
Enable Adsense Section Targeting? BETA
Select "Yes" to add Google AdSense section tags to relevant parts of your forum pages within forumhome, forumdisplay and showthread.
its working fine. If its enabled you get the described error

The vbSEO team answered that this could be a fix

Code:
Please try to search for post[title] and replace it with post[title_original] in gars postbit template
Morgan can you check this?

The $post[title_original] variable doesn't appear to be a vB variable, maybe it's something created from vBSEO, but if you want to try it, edit the GARS_pb template, replacing the following with $post[title_original] or try $post[title] instead:
Code:
<strong>$post[gars_pagename]</strong>
Or turn off vBSEO's AdSense Section Targeting, or try checking at vbseo.com.

Default decrease in google adsense revenue

Is there anymore news on this? Can the vbseo function be enabled without the Google adsense comments showing in the title?

I disabled the vbseo function and my gars titles are working now, but I've noticed a definite decrease in my Google adsense revenue and click through rate.
