Unhappy Difference in rendering between IE and FireFox

From my wife/partner:

IE 6.0 SP2
FireFox 2.0

I am completely flummoxed and darn near to going berserk. I have a table in a GAL - renders perfectly in FireFox, but in IE there's about an inch and a half of dead space at the top before the table. I've tested the table on a clean page and it's perfect. I believe based on all the attempted fixes that it's a cached height on the popup, but I have not the first clue where to find it to reset it, clear it or hack it to pieces with an axe. Any help? I understand there's a Budweiser in it for you.

HTML Code:
  <table border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="5" valign="top">

What replacement code are you using? It looks like the container needs a valign="top", not your code.

Popup with Title

HTML Code:
<a href='$gal_link' target='_blank' class='gal' onmouseover='GAL_popup(this,"$gal_offset", $gal_width, "$gal_box_style", "$gal_description", "$gal_description_style", "$gal_title", "$gal_title_style");' onmouseout='GAL_hidepopup();'>$gal_text</a>
Yellow Box

HTML Code:
background: #FFCC33;
padding: 2px;
font-size: 11px;
font-color: #003399;
I should add that I have tried putting a valign="top" in the container, and had no better results.

Please to be forgiving the fact that I am a noob at this. Not sure if I've bungled things completely (in which case my head bashing is well-deserved) or if there's an issue which I cannot possibly resolve on my own. Actually, in either case, I'm reasonably sure that it's an issue which I cannot possibly resolve on my own, and I am throwing myself down on the mercy of the geek.

Unhappy

This is driving me nuts. As it's a fairly high profile part of the system, this is currently the only thing keeping me from rolling out the GAL system on our boards, does anyone have any ideas? Pretty Please?

Ive been playing around with this and for the life of me, I cant figure what the problem is. I must be missing something simple because this is a pretty standard way to use GAL . GIve me a little more time. Ill pm Lizard as he uses loads of embeded tables and divs in GALs, he also a bit of a style guru so he may pick something up that I have missed. Hang fire

Sudden thought: Should we put this in the bug tracker? We weren't really sure if it was a bug or misunderstanding on our part.

We couldn't be happier now that the new GARS version fixed most of our problems (well Susan's playing with it now, but we have high hopes :-)), it's certainly not a crisis, as we can spend time working on the GARS side of things, just wanted to keep it on the scope so to speak... Thanks!

James & Susan

I don't think its really a bug, however I gave it a go and had a struggle with your HTML. However I know others (including myself) have used loads of HTML in it...

Ill emial Lizard instead of just PM him. He could help hed some light.
