Default Raw HTML being received

Hi,

Sent out the first newsletter today using GAZ and everything went fine.

However, some of the newsletters received were just raw html. Am I right in thinking that this is a problem with the recipients choice of software to read the emails or is something that can be sorted out before sending? Most people received the mailing fine, but people using Thunderbird, Yahoo and Hotmail seem to be the ones having problems.

After further investigation it appears that the people receiving the emails as raw HTML have no problem receiving other HTML format emails and they're displayed properly. Any chance of some support or some light shining here?

Sorry for the delay. There are the gaz_html_header, gaz_html_navbar, and gaz_html_footer templates that you can edit for each style as you prefer. Use absolute http:// links, not relative links, do not use JavaScript, use inline CSS, not external CSS files, etcetera, so that you have a better chance that the receiver's email reader does not strip out parts of the HTML email. For reasons discussed here you cannot use relative links, JavaScript, external/non-inline CSS. If you try to use exact replicates of your forum templates, it will not look good in an email reader, as many email readers strip out/do not permit the "fancy" stuff you can use on a webpage. There is further explanation about this on this page. After you make edits to the GAZ templates, go to the ACP -> GAZ -> Issues -> click the issue -> check the Refresh Layout box -> Save -> do another preview to see the changes. It might be that there is something in the GAZ templates that the email readers don't like so show raw HTML to protect their users.
