Default How best to integrate multiple GARS functions?

How do most people configure their GARS "forums"?

I was thinking that I would create an Articles Forum (parent, not an actual forum), and then sub forums for Articles, Reviews, Stories, etc.

Is this the best way to do it? Should I hide the root Articles folder from my forum display?

Thanks!

Totally depends on how you want users to navigate it

On my other forum, I have a Tutorials and an Articles forum right in the forumdisplay, then sub categories of each.

Can I make the forum invisible in some way so it doesn't show in the home forum display, but still allow it to be viewed if someone follows a link directly to the forum?

Sure,

Edit the forum and set is active to no. Then it wont show on forumdisplay but it will still be accessible via a url

Wow... if it is not active, people will still be able to start new threads, reply, etc.? What about finding things via search? I thought that turning active off would make it disappear completely. This would be great news.

Yea, all things should work... I think that the active label is a bit misleading personally. It should justread 'dsiplay on forumhome'
