Ratings

From Geeki

A rating is a configured group of options that optionally allows authors and/or users to 'rate' on. You can have an unlimited number of ratings configured with an unlimited number of options.

Once a rating is created, it can then be assigned to a type.

To create a rating set, browse to your template set manager (admincp->gars->ratings) and click Add New at the bottom of the list of existing ratings. To edit a rating, simply click the link next to its name.

When you Add or Edit a Rating Set, you will be presented with the following options:

  • Title - the title to use in the admincp to refer to this rating

For each question option you have, you will see the following options:

  • Text - This is the text that will be displayed next to the rating option
  • Minimum amount - This is the lowest value someone can choose (i.e 1 or 0)
  • Minimum amount - This is the highest value that someone can choose (i.e. 5 or 10)
  • Incriments - This is the amount that each value can incriment. (i.e. whole numbers, half numbers or quarter numbers). For instance, setting to whole numbers will give options like 1,2,3,4 or 5. Setting to half number incriments will give you options like 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, etc...
  • Allow n/a - Setting this option to yes will allow the author of the thread to exclude the option when they rate or when other users rate. For instance, if the rating was based on video games and an option was for multi-player action but the game didn't have multiplayer, then the author could set this option to n/a which would mean that it would not appear for other users to rate on.
  • Delete - Deletes this option
  • Add more questions - enter a number here to add additoinal questions to your rating.

Note that a rating's settings (i.e. the ability to rate, the ability for the author to rate, etc... is defined in a type.).
