View Full Version : GARS RC3 Spanish translation

12-30-2005, 12:23 AM
Got this done today so if anyone is interested in using it, here's what I've done.

Some notes to all the potential users:

I use in my forums the spanish word Permanente ("Permanent") as an alternate of "Sticky" since the literal translation of the latter doesn't really make sense to me in forum use. So you may want to check it and change the related phrases to something else if you disagree.
I also use non-formal second person (tú for "you") in most of the translations so if you use formal second person in your common forum translation to address your users (usted for "you"), then you might want to adjust that too.Have fun.

Edit: check my last post in this thread for the release for GARS 1.0 "Gold" spanish translation file

Superb! Thanks for this. Im sorry to say that there will be mucho mas coming in the next 48 hours ;)

Do you mind if I put your translation in either another forum or with the final package?

Thanks again :)

I don't mind at all, and yeah I read somewhere that the final version could have a lot more phrases but I hope they are mostly in the admin cp part of the mod and that's not really as critical for me as the frontend, but I would be happy to help translate those too when the final version comes out.

edit: thanks to you for a great mod :)

Okay, I checked the previous upload I did and found that didn't had all the translations I have done, so now I assure you this has:

All the frontend error messages (even some of them are really back end but meh ;)).
All the standard term sets (GARS_1, GARS_2 and GARS_3 phrases, or Article, Review and Tutorial phrases, whatever you like to call them).
All the Global Phrases.

I don't need the admincp phrases in spanish but if there's need for it I'll be happy to do it and release.

Same notes of my previous release apply to this one.

Oh god, I started to translate everything a few hours back... I'm almost finished now... Anyway, thanks for sharing.

hehe, yeah it's kind of a pain to custom translate, but well worth it if your community is used to some terms :)

Ok, sometimes you don't catch errors till is too late, I have fixed some gramatical errors with the translation and an oversight in my part with the locale settings.

PS. I must also add a bug report for the terms translation system, I'll open a thread in the proper section.

Nope, this looks to be for either GARS RC3 or 1.0c.
