Do you have the geek/gab/images folder (and its contents) chmodded to 0777?
If so, do you have safemode on?

It should be geek/gab/images/o/ and that should be chmodded to 0777 - can you check that for me?
The geek/ga/images/ folder at all its sub folders should be chmodded 0777

We are ch moded to 777. I am unsure how the 0 file got created. You installed this last week and I have not touched it.

The 0 folder is the root folder for admincp uploaded files. Has your server configuration changed at all?

hmmm, you MUST have safemode on. Im going to have to create a method for uploading in safemode and possibly a manual url entry.

I've literally just purchased GABS and I had that exact same error....all I had to do was to go into settings (after CHMOD everything to 777 in geek), I realised I hadnt put anything into settings....(server path folder and UL folder)
*edited out*
I then tried to upload a banner and I got the error, I refreshed the folder in my FTP client and the folder 0 appeared and a image in it, everything worked then.

Though I don't think this is the case, its worth also noting that a very frequent problem I come across with the settings above is mysterious leading and trailing slashes in the settings.
If there is a leading or trailing slash, your in for woes as well.
Like I said - don't think its the case - but its worth checking.

No leading slashes, could I get you to log in and look at it?

Just had a look, your server path was pointing to /***/forum/geek/gab/images and it needed to point to /***/forums/geek/gab/images
Sorted now and everything is peachy keen :)

Dont be :)
If I remember right, it was because you were converting. Hell - it took me 2 pages and finally a log in to spot the problem :)
Its like the car key syndrome. Always the last place you look (in front of you :P)

I'm getting the same error. Safe mode is off and CHMODed /forum/geek/images to 777 (recursive)
I ftp'd the image to the images folder so I am no longer getting the errors when I click "Debug" but when I try to upload the banner through the Banners interface, I get:
Warning: move_uploaded_file(/mounted-storage/home10/sub001/sc15748-ncjj/www/forum/geek/gab/images/0/b468x60ani2.gif): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /geek/gab/includes/gab_class_admin.php on line 438
Warning: move_uploaded_file(): Unable to move '/tmp/phpE2biS9' to '/mounted-storage/home10/sub001/sc15748-ncjj/www/forum/geek/gab/images/0/b468x60ani2.gif' in /geek/gab/includes/gab_class_admin.php on line 438
Got some freaky error.

Is
mounted-storage/home10/sub001/sc15748-ncjj/www/forum/geek/gab/images/
The same as the one that GAB gives you in the settings?
I stumpled across another user that was having problems because him path was case sensitive, but GARS was forcing a lowercase path. In other words, it was the same path, but not the exact case.
Can you double check for me?

It is the same path that GAB gives in the settings and the one that you set it back to when you looked in the earlier problem I was having.

I was getting this error, I'm not anymore, but I still can't get the ad's to show up yet.

His error is specific to an Mixed case server path. Im working on a soluition for him right now.
Make sure that each category is set correctly and each item. 99% of ads not showing up is due to categories and items not being set up.

I'm also getting this message when I try to upload a banner.
Warning: move_uploaded_file(/******/bassnutz/public_html/geek/gab/images ?/0/inlayheader.jpg): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /geek/gab/includes/gab_class_admin.php on line 438

Maybe the answer I'm looking for has already been answered, but I never learned how to read. :(
I have all the files that need to be CHMODed done correctly. This really sucks balls, because you have the best advertising system out there and I can't get it to work right. :(
If you have the time, (or the inclination) to check things out for me on my board, I'd be very greatful. and maybe even a little kissey poo (no, I won't kiss your poo...freak) for you. :D
I have a ton of paying advertisers that have been bugging the $#!t out of me to get this this working.
HELP ME PLEASE. I'll send you a .....damn, what do you want?
Thanks,
Joe

hehe. Thanks :)
It looks like there is either a leading or trailing space in one or more of your paths in your settings. Can you double check??

*Bangs head against desk*
I don't know if I'm just too stupid to figure things out, or just too stupid to figure things out.
It's like buying a brand new car, they give you the keys, but it won't start. :(

did you check to see if there is a space before or after your path settings?
bassnutz
01-25-2006, 10:51 AM
Yes sir I did. One thing I did notice is that the error message said, /0/inlayheader.jpg, I don't have a 0 banner. It starts off with ID #1.
The Geek

double check that the gab/images folder is chmodded to 0777.
the 0 in the path is just a storage mechanism. There should be a 0 folder created in the images folder that will house banners uploaded from the admincp. If the folder isnt created it means that the script does not have permission to write to the folder or that the path is invalid.
Based on your first post, I would say the problem is an invalid path simply because of this part of the path:
/******/bassnutz/public_html/geek/gab/images ?/0/inlayheader.jpg
There is a space AND a question mark in there which is funked
