Synopsis

Is there any way to make the synopsis just show the first X number of characters from the article?

Sorry if I missed that option somewhere...

You can set the synopsis lenght from type settings.
In order to remove the copyright comment the following out from gars_class_core.php
$this->vb->options['copyrighttext'] .= "<br /><a href='http://www.thevbgeek.com' target='_BLANK'>{$this->terms[capital]} powered by GARS {$this->version} &copy;2005</a>";

Yes, I set the length, but I have a LOT of articles (threads) that were already out there and I don't want to have to edit each one and put in the synopsis. I would rather it just display the first X characters from the article.

If it is your first installation then i am afraid you have to edit them one by one and just save each of them. I know it is hard but it happened to me to.

Cong', could you cheat and use conditionals so that if the synopsis value is blank then to show the quickpreview value from the thread?

Off the top of my head, it should use Maximum characters for synopsis box setting. But I cant really recall (and Im not where I can crack open the code right now!)
