Morgan,

Today I added another GAL entry in the same way that I have always done in the past but for some reason the autolinking isn't showing up for this new entry.

I did a screen capture of my admincp GAL panel so you can see the entry in question (you should still have admincp access to my site)

Here is a link to topic thread that should have an auto link created for phrases like "Billy Boat" but for some reason does Not. Yes I have run both maitenance tools including rebuilding the post cache a few times.

Any idea why this is not working? Can you fix?

Sincerely,
Ken

Morgan,

One other item, originally I tried to put in B&B as a link term, but it converted that to BB instead. Is there a way to do "B&B" ?

I have also verified that other GAL items are working on my site, just not this one.

What is even weirder is that the GAL for this entry works in this thread:

But not in the one I listed above. What could cause that???

For the ampersand or other characters you want to show as GALs, please see http://www.thevbgeek.com/showthread.php?t=3964

For "Billy Boat" auto-linking in one thread but not another thread, are all the forums checked in the ACP -> GAL -> Categories -> click the Sponsored Ads link (not sure if it is Sponsored Ads as the category name in the screenshot is hard to read)?

DOH! I can't believe I forgot to check whether or not those forums were checked, sure enough one was, the other wasn't. Now that I've checked it, it works. I read the linked topic on ampersands and I understand how to do it I think, but the last reply in that topic confused me a little, I wasn't sure if the entity needs to be in the GAL item, or in those 2 files or listed that way in both? If you can hed some light that would be great!

Try using [^\w\s,&;\'\-] as the character class and B&B as the GAL keyword.

Morgan,
I changed those 2 files, added in the GAL keyword as suggested and it works! Thanks!

BTW how is Geekmart coming????

Worked on it this weekend, unfortunately didn't get it finished. Will work on it more this week.
