GAL Slower on 3.5.1?

I'm not sure if I've done something wrong, but I have two forums, one live, the other a test forum. The test forum (which has only a handful of posts) is running GAL on 3.5. The live forum is running GAL on 3.5.1, and has xxx,xxx posts. The live forum is a LOT slower after installing GAL. Does this sound right? I've made all four test GALs inactive, but the forum is still loading very slowly.

I couldnt see how it would make any performance difference at all.

All processing is done via GALs functions (which havent changed) on the post text (which will be about the same). I havent noticed a performance hit on my other site yet.

Bob, I experienced something similar but after I updated my cache everything seemed to be back to normal.

Things are back to normal now. I did notice that a couple of sites were slow last night (even Google was down), so who knows? Maybe it was something else.
