Hello,

I want to buy GARS to use it in my travel forums, where I have a few forums that the member write their "stories". GARS would be ideal to index the stories' "chapters" or parts, with its indexing of multiple pages.

The problem is this; Today a member starts a new thread in gars, and writes the first part of the story. Users will comment for a few days, and THEN the topic starter will have to EDIT his post to add the second part of the story in a second page. But if he does this, nobody would know that there has been a second part posted, because the thrad doesn't get bumped.

Is there a way I can make the EDIT function bump the article as a new reply would?

Thanks.

Changing the post time of the first post in a thread is not a good idea, as posts get ordered by date and if you start changing the date of the first post, your threads could really get messed up. If your members add to their story, they can thereafter make a subsequent post, stating that the story has been updated, and that'll bump the thread, or you could try http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=156627 to change the date of the last post in a thread, as that would maintain the order correctly, assuming the modification works correctly, of which I cannot say as I haven't used it.

Morgan thanks for your reply. I'll have to look into this, as it's very important that the thread gets bumped. Maybe the simplest solution is the best (as you said, just reply to the topic and say "part 2 added" or sth).

Have a nice day,
Dakis :)
