I've uploaded the files and folders, and imported the .xml file from the plugin manager. But no options show up in the admincp. Am I missing something?

Thanks. :)

Did you try refreshing the admincp? especially the menu frame! Try hitting crtl+f5

Oh, yeah. I tried all of that, including "show only this frame" (in FF) and a CTRL+F5. It seems some stuff wasn't installed somehow. Let me try re-uploading the xml file.

Edit: Nope, that didn't work either.

Are you uploading as a product or as a plugin? Although I doubt it it will let you upload as a plugin.

But just to make sure we are on the right page make sure you uploaded thru Plugin Manager » Manage Products » [Add/Import Product]

And tick the Allow override.

Also do you get any error at all while trying to upload this?

If all fails, try downloading the zip package from here again. It maybe a corrupted file..

Good Luck!

Yup, here's what I'm doing:

Plugin System > Manage Products > [Add/Import Product]

I'll try re-downloading, etc. a little later.

I'm having the same problem... However, I do get the 'geek article and review system' link on the admin panel left menu... I don't get a 'GAB Manager' link. Which I'm assuming is needed b/c I can't find any other way to have the article system visible... I'm missing some of the main admin functions.

I'm doing everything you listed above and still not luck. Any help?

One thing--I don't use the default /admincp name for my ACP (for added security). Would that cause a problem?

That shouldnt cause a problem.

Nothing will appear in the admincp navigation pane if:
1- There is no cpnav.xml file in forums/includes/xml
2- The phrases for said file are not installed.

Double check both.

Double check both.Hmm... I've got a cpnav_vbulletin.xml file. I'll rename it to cpnav.xml to see what happens.

Nope, that didn't work. The ACP gave me this error:

Warning: array_keys(): The first argument should be an array in /includes/adminfunctions_navpanel.php on line 147

Warning: implode(): Bad arguments. in /includes/adminfunctions_navpanel.php on line 147

I've followed the instructions, and this install of vB is clean, so I can't think of anything that's gone wrong.

It appears I just have a cpnav_gars.xml... Dunno if that is the file you were referring to or not to Bob.

that is the only .xml file included in that specific directory after the unzip. It only has 5 links in it, which work fine and appear on the left-menu of the admin panel. I was just curious where the other block of links is?? isn't there supposed to be 2?

Bob - didn't mean to distract attention away from your problem, just thought this was related and possibly could help your confusion.

You need to double check the downloaded package for cpnav_gal.xml and cpnav_gab.xml (depending on the package you are installing).
I have jsut double checked both and they are in there (in the upload/forums/includes/xml folder)

Thanks for the reply.

I can't seem to find any of those files in that particular direcotry. I downloaded this file:

GARS_beta3.zip

and the only file in that directory you listed is:

cpnav_gars.xml

Is there another file I should have downloaded? Thanks for the help, much appreciated.

EDIT: my god, i'm an idiot... this is in the wrong forum. I didn't this was the auto-linker forum. All of these problems that I have been referring too are for the Review/Article System. Just wanted to clear that up. Sorry for the confusion.

hehe... my acronyms getting to you yet ;)

Post your issue as a new thread in the GARS forum then so I can get a clear understanding of the problem.

Bob, when you get a second, check your cpnav file that was in the package you downloaded and let me know.

Thanks guys

Got it figured out--I think the cpnav_gal.xml file didn't get uploaded.

It seems to be working now. Thanks. :)
