GARS into BLOG system

Hello,

I wanted to use GARS to make a nice BLOG system.. The only way I see this happening is by making a mod. One that would add a button for the THREAD starter to allow them to add new entry, and when the THREAD started clicks on it it will automaticly add a [BREAK] at the end of the articles and date it like [BREAK=Jan, 1, 2006] or allow the user to name the page with an input field.

My question is, would this be possible or can this be done any other way?

hmmmm. Not too sure. I think it would soon get out of hand.
I think it would be better to set up a forum where no one can respond to others threads (unsing vb's permissions). Then all you have to do is make sure people only create 1 thread. The rest of the entries would only be replies to their own thread ;)

Get out of hand? You mean too many pages? I like your idea, but the down side to it would be that other users won't be albe to ask questions or make comments to the entries.

Ah, good point.

By out of hand, I mean that the post would get gargantuan. Plus you would have to manage turning New Thread into a new entry (with a page break) and editing would be a little complicated.
Maybe a mechanism that would give each user a forum that only they can create threads in? That could get pretty ugly too as the forum count could sky rocket.
