Upgraded to GAL 4.8 from GAL 4.0 after just upgrading to vB3.6 from vB3.07 - but links are not working. Tried rebuilding links also to no avail. Is it ok to upgrade from GAL 4.0 to 4.8?

There is no <code version="4.8"> in the product-gal.xml file. Is this important?

Naa, that should be ok. Is it 4.8 that you used?

Yes, it is 4.8.

I have it working now. I turned off DB cache and links started working. For some reason, when I turn DB cache on, I get no links. I checked to make sure that I was looking in forums that were activated for that category. Any idea why DB cache is failing?

Hmmm, I notice a new "Active?" field when adding new links and see that the upgrade marked all my links as not active instead of active? Is that why DB cache is not working? But then why are they all active without DB cache?

I'm having similar issues. vB 3.6.2 with GAL 4.8 and the links won't update. Additional problem is that it seems like every time I go into the settings it doesn't seem to remember them.

Just download a fresh copy and put fresh copies on the server and re-imported the product XML but same results.

Was there a resolution to Tom's instance?

I still have the same problem. I never did look into it further.

As long as I leave the DB cache off, it works. The odd thing is that all links work regardless of what the "active" setting is for each link.

Did you also upgrade from GAL 4.0 or is this a completely new GAL installation?

I would have tried wiping out the old tables associated with GAL and then installing it fresh, but I don't want to type in 1,000 links again.

Did you also upgrade from GAL 4.0 or is this a completely new GAL installation? In my case I was running GAL 4.6 (either 4.6. or 4.7) with vBulletin 3.5.4 and then before I upgraded the site to vB 3.6.1 I disabled the GAL product. After the vB 3.6.1 upgrade I then upgraded again to vB 3.6.2 at which time I renabled the GAL product and then updated that to the 4.8 version. Everything seems normal but when I noticed none of links were working I went into the ACP and that's when I noticed that it wasn't retaining my selections in the settings section either.

I would have tried wiping out the old tables associated with GAL and then installing it fresh, but I don't want to type in 1,000 links again.x2
